Yale University Art Gallery / Director of Publications and Editorial Services

Tiffany Sprague, Director of Publications and Editorial Services at the Yale University Art Gallery, joined the museum in 2005 as its first editor. Since then, the Gallery’s publishing program has tripled in size and has received more than three-dozen editorial and design awards for publications, including the prestigious Wittenborn Award for Stuart Davis: A Catalogue Raisonné and the Sotheby Prize for Get There First, Decide Promptly: The Richard Brown Baker Collection of Postwar Art. In addition to more than sixty exhibition and collection catalogues—on diverse topics, from Javanese gold to John La Farge—Tiffany has overseen production of the Gallery’s successful series of monographs by photographers Robert Adams and Lee Friedlander, which have received commendations from Art in America, Bookforum, the New York Review of Books, the New York Times, and Time magazine, among others. For the last five years, Tiffany has served on the jury of the Lucie Foundation’s International Photography Awards. Prior to her position at the Gallery, she worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the illustrated book publisher Rizzoli. She holds a Master’s degree in art history from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
