Taken during the onset of winter in our new home the frost shadows of the Winter Blind series evokes the traditions of Chinese artist-scholar landscape painting. While formally beautiful, the images have deeper meaning highlighting the thin veil of security a home provides from the increasingly harsh elements. As I mentally wander through these scenes I am reminded of my place in the world, my human vulnerability–and the need to better insulate my home.
