Predator. Prey. is a part of my PROJECT: 71% ABOUT MY PROJECT In a data-heavy society, being defined by the numbers make intangibles tangible. The ocean would be 71 percent [of the Earth's surface]. By examining the intricacy and interdependency of this 71 percent of the world we live in, a sense of the momentary and of timelessness becomes more obvious. ABOUT THIS PHOTOGRAPH Predator.Prey. is a portrait of the shark - the title reffers to shark species being endangered - the objective is to highlight the shark-fin-soup driven slaughter and loss of sharks in our oceans, challenging the viewer to examine our own relationship with not only the sharks but with all the elements of life. This is a large portrait developed from my underwater photograph. I have printed it 80x60inch in the past, and I have also used a negative fro Vanishing - an installation of OVER 300 small format shark photographs developed from the same negative that is gradually deconstructed starting from the perfect exposure to final ghost image. Small prints are printed in platinum/palladium, platinum and palladium. The installation is always site-specific.
