What lies behind the seemingly insurmountable fences and the white, sterile looking facades of the refugee camps? How does the daily coexistence of many refugees from various nations with partly traumatizing pasts feel? Which individual fates, prospects or setbacks are revealed? In my project "refuge" I want to explore this place of escape and record with my camera. It is important for me to convey the feeling that I encountered there during my first days: A period of peace and hope, wrapped in monotony. An eternity in a place that provides space to organize the thoughts of the past and the future and to grow the opportunities for a better life.
