Outside of the city of Fortaleza, Brazil, each year in October the indigenous ethnic group of Tapeba celebrates during two days, the Carnauba feast. Ritual dances and fights and sacred ceremonies wearing traditional clothes made of carnauba, their sacred plant. The Tapeba natives were the first indigenous people of the region to fight to protect their traditions.
