August 1st 2016. 118 people are rescued from a rubber boat floating 20 nautic miles far from the Libyan coast. Similar number as the ones exchanged everyday by the authorities and NGOs in charge of the rescues in the Mediterranean Sea, and spread through the media. But, who is behind these numbers? I have photographed the 118 people who were in that rubber boat rescued the 1st of August, in an attempt to put face and name to the numbers. Here are eight of them.
