This project is about the Cubans, a developing society projected towards innovation but not fully conscious of what progress often implies in terms of sacrificing someone’s identity. I will show you the inherent contrast: an improvised celebration of Fidel's birthday, a mere neon light to illuminate his effigy, and two young artists opposing the regime through their art. Kids playing in a cemetery while an ex-con rejoices in his newly gained freedom. Two lovers ignoring each other, head-deep in their screen, while older Cubans share the day’s events outside their houses.
