Portraits of the dancers of The Ensemble of National Dances Of Serbia KOLO were made for the 70th-anniversary campaign. The main mission of the National Ensemble "KOLO" is to collect, adapt and save from oblivion our folk dances and songs, our musical heritage. Kolo is a traditional, collective folk dance performed by dancers who are interlinked to form a chain, usually moving in a circular line holding hands with their arms down. Ensemble Kolo represents a moving museum. About 2,000 original costumes of inestimable value, some of which date back to the 19th century, are a national treasure.

I am Jelena Jankovic, the award-winning fine art photographer. I am specialized in dance and theater photography. I also work as a fashion and documentary photographer.
