This body of work captures the daily struggle of those affected by the Mount Agung eruption in East Bali, Indonesia. It shows how human beings in-light of all difficulties brought by the environment, employ their creativity of weaving baskets to solve problems one day at a time. Having sold their main source of income - cows before the evacuation. After spending months scattered around the island in refugee camps they have returned to a worse situation than they were once in. The uncertainty of not knowing is a difficult challenge to face especially when the need to return to normal is desired
My name is Kristina Sergeeva, I was born (1997) and raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I come from a Russian background. Growing up amongst people of various nationalities she has developed an insight into the way different cultures are translated and has been immersed into the idea of telling visual stories and raising issues which have otherwise not been told. Kristina is currently living in the U.K but often travels to parts of Asia, Africa and Europe.
