The traditional izakaya (Japanese bar) was built in 1856 in the typical wooden structure of its time. Noren, the split curtain, is often hung at the entrance with the shop’s name printed on it. Sliding door entrances with sliding shoji screens are characteristics of the traditional Japanese architecture. This particular structure was refurbished and remodeled in 1970.
