The Photographer Gianluca Colonnese, welcomed by families who live in modest houses, several hours away from "civilization", has tried to capture the essence of the Gauchos tradition, starting from the endless pastures that smell of freedom, through the cattle's auctions and still passing through the butcher shops in the heart of Buenos Aires, where the meat arrives in the middle of the night. The photographer want to close the story-telling with an image of hope for the future of this unique way of life.

I'm Gianluca, graduated in humanistic disciplines and specialized in anthropology, photojournalism and documentary photography. Currently my long-term projects involve 2 territories, Italy and Argentina. In Italy I'm developing a project to child disability, legal Marijuana and new paganism. In Argentina I'm working on a project about the Gauchos and cattle breeding traditions.
