Shaolin Zen Music Ritual is a large scale evening outdoor performance that combines martial art, Zen Buddhism spirit, music, dance, lighting effect, and mountain landscape as a stage. It is the feast for both the eyes and ears. They are “water, wood, wind, light and stone” music played with martial arts movement during the performance. Martial arts are performed by skillful and dedicated Shaolin warrior monks. Background: Songshan mountain in Dengfeng City, Henan Province, China. There are trees, streams, stones, bridges temples, and pagodas in the background which enhances the atmosphere.
