While a female of Damselfly lays eggs the male keeps other potential mates away by remaining claspers (cerci), located on the male’s abdomen, have a shape unique to each species of Damselfly. My first few shots of this subject with an f/13 aperture were not a little bit interesting due to cluttered background because of wide depth of field. After thinking a little I set f/5.6 and got an absolutely pleasing background and finally generated a bokeh (a Japanese word for the aesthetic quality of out of-focus points of light) shot what I wanted.
