Famous for their aggressive driving, New York City yellow cabs are an integral part of this renowned city providing generations of tourists and residents with an experience that epitomize all that this metropolis is known for. Television shows and films that depict New York are incomplete without the presence of the iconic yellow cab. Within its interiors drivers and passengers exchange life stories, philosophical thoughts, and personal problems. According to the New York Times, in 2014, only 8% of the yellow cab drivers are American born. Now a popular occupation for immigrants the present day cabbie is primarily from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Haiti, Morocco, Italy, Russia, and Egypt. My Project explores the day in the life of a New York City Cab Driver.
