Lambarene - Since its beginnings the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Lambaréné, Gabon, is a symbol for peace and humanity. Founded one hundred years ago in a chicken coop, it is today a medical facility that includes five different clinics and offers medical care for 35, 000 patients visits a year. In the language of the Galoa, Lambaréné means “we want to try it”. Until today, the people of this historical to only try, but are here to stay.
