Metanimalia

The metanimalia series is based on the overlapping of two visual layers and was inspired by a personal experience of mine, that of the rediscovery of an old photo of a fawn i had taken which insects had settled upon. This led me to the idea of combining the one level of wild animals in their natural habitat, evoking the style of the prints of19th century naturalists. And the second level being that of small animals living in their natural habitat and moving over the images in a visual game, not bereft of irony. My desire was to express the idea that animals live beyond simply their taxonomy and our need to fit them into representative ideals.

I am a photographer and author who has studied philosophy. My photographic production, in addition to professional activity, extends to the visual arts, often relies on the contamination of techniques (analog, digital) and languages ??(words, images), with the intent to show the extraordinary in the ordinary, whether it be things, people, places.
