Metanoia In Metanoia, in the privacy of my studio, I photographed different people (from religious professionals to people who practice religion), praying or meditating. And captured the intimate moment of dialogue of these people with themselves or with a divine entity. Approaching the concept of portrait in an experimental way, I seek to question in this series the transformation process, or better, transfiguration, during the act of prayer or spiritual reflection. In parallel with scientific studies showing neurological changes during religious or mystical experiences, this work tries to understand, with a particular approach to the notion of portrait, if the photography, as a mean of the transcription of real, can detect and capture the signs of such transfiguration in these faces inhabited by inner dialogue.
