"Mystic": from the Greek 'mystikós', an initiate into the mysteries transcending ordinary human knowledge, as by immediate intuition. For the series "Mystics" I used direct positive paper, which gave me the strong contrast and the rich dense blacks that I was looking for for this series of portraits. I wanted the portraits to be dark and bright at the same time. Out of time. In limbo.
