With this project I tried to investigate the reality of many young Nigerian girls (mostly from Benin City) forced by deception but sometimes even with the consent of their families, into prostitution in a modern form of new slavery (clearly this is a plague that affects not only Nigerian girls but also women of all nationalities) and in conditions so squalid that almost seeing it is hard to believe. In fact all of these young women are forced into prostitution in places highly degraded, very similar to municipal waste landfills. Seeing and resume these places, for a moment I thought of the hell circles in Dante Alighieri. So this is a very serious phenomenon and unthinkable in a modern civilization, which in the past few had realized its real configuration as enslavement, of complicity explicit or unconscious unfortunately daily allow a repeat of the commodification and dell'abbrutimento tens of thousands of women. So the analysis of the phenomenon, the dissemination of correct information and awareness of the whole society now qualify as essential tasks to prevent this "silent tragedy" become normal for people's consciences.
