In May 2015, a select group of scientists and anglers traveled to the remote atoll of Anaa in French Polynesia. The expedition goal was to evaluate the fishery for development into a sport fishery, that would then support the locals. Currently, young adults are leaving the island as there are no jobs available. Living with the locals, exploring the fishery, and gaining knowledge of local culture yielded a successful expedition.

"McGlothlin is as much a journalist as an angler, creating a visual with words and images like a modern-day lady Hemingway." - Outdoor Hub Jess McGlothlin sees her mission as a simple one: tell stories. Working as a freelance photographer and writer, while on assignment in the past few years she’s learned how to throw spears at coconuts in French Polynesia, dodge saltwater crocodiles in Cuba, stand-up paddleboard down Amazon tributaries and eat all manner of unidentifiable food. Jess is available for contract, editorial, and assignment work, and is currently based in Bozeman, Montana.
