Photographed during the height of spring on Quadra Island, British Columbia using a Deardorff 8 x 10 camera. Working in monochrome allowed me to look deeper into the quintessential form of the unraveling ferns and ancient horsetail without the distracting element of colour, heightening the image to an almost spiritual plane.
