The body and its memories

'The body and its memories' is a visual exploration of body, gender issues, memories and physical/mental space. Through double exposures, the dancing body of Chinese choreographer Wen Hui merges with the architectural elements of her apartment at The Camargo Foundation in France and the nature surrounding us. A visual exploration of body done through the creative collaboration between a photographer and a choreographer which challenge each other in the effort to go beyond boundaries, fears, stigma and categories. A tribute to our body and its special, unique way to experience and remember life. We are all unique and it’s in our bodies – our skin, muscles, nerves – which we actively participate through our day to day experiences; good ones and bad; exciting and trivial. A hymn to our body as extreme example of otherness where the negative and positive poles merge and combine: Yin and Yang, passive and active, female and male, Moon and Sun. The series 'The body and its memories' has been realized in March 2015.
