In December, in Lalibela, Ethiopia, the festival of San Giyorgis (St George) church in a cross carved into the rock of Bet Giyorgis, place of worship for Orthodox Christians celebrated. For centuries the devout pilgrimage to this place mainly from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia itself, with its white robes in an act of faith full of spirituality around the church, the cross and the Tabot (replica tables stone with the Ten Commandments were given to Moses). The spectacular church, excavated in the rock, is only accessible by a long passage that goes into the ground until he found the tunnel entrance to the holy church. While outside around the church pilgrims pray and sing before the amanecener, down at the bottom of the walls, people are baptized and attend Masses celebrated around the Tabot. Faith and spirituality, lights and shadows around the incessant buzz of the white robes of the devotees.
