For my final work in my second year of School of Arts in Ghent, I made a series about the remembrance to my father who died when I was a little girl. In 1990 he was killed while he was doing his job, that was working on a sleeping train that went from Brussels to Milan. A couple of pick pockers boarded the train and killed my father by accident. Now 25 years later I wanted to capture a feeling of remembrance about a person I have never really known. I did this by following the same train parcours from Brussels, through Switserland, to the border of Italy. I captured images on and off the train with my analogue Hasselblad Camera. The result is a series of 25 pictures, all framed and presented on a wall, supported by old family pictures and an old news paper article.
