Dark Blue

The idea of my "Dark Blue" Series is to visualize certain transformations and changes that are shaping our society. I also based the series on my own feelings, experiences and observations that I made in the society I live in, facing these transformations. The series deals with the overall topics transparency, anonymity, melting and dissolving, while each of the pictures deals with an own topic. I try to come up with a different technique for each of my series and convert analogue techniques to a digital work environment. The production of the picture is a very work intense process. I constantly took pictures of a person in different positions. In the digital post-processing I cut the person from its background and then fragmented the person into its vertical pixel lines via an automated process. After all I can choose the single pixel lines and construct the final image out of them. By choosing every fifth or tenth pixel line the cut out person becomes kind of transparent and its possible to shift several cut-outs into each other. The images are available as unique prints in the following sizes: 37 x 74 cm; 74 x 148 cm; 111 x 222 cm.
