Felupes of Guinea Bissau

The felupes are an ethnic group, sub-group of Jola, existing in southern Casamance, Senegal, and São Domingos in Guinea-Bissau; between the Casamance River and the Rio Cacheu. The felupes dedicate themselves apart from fishing, the cultivation of rice, cassava and sweet potatoes. The main entertainments of Felupes are dancing (Konko) the fight (Akuj).
