Postalcards to Charles Lynch

Brazil is one of the most violent countries in the world. It is also one of the countries where more cases of lynchings happen every year. Numbers of people who got lynched can go as high as 1 million during the 20th century. Postalcards to Charles Lynch is a documentary project that experiments with images of lynchings found on the internet. The Collective Garapa collected frames of videos containing lynchings. To those images, they added hatred youtube comments founded together with the videos and placed it into the source code of the images. The result are glitched images, unpredictable and semi-destructed frames in which the violence receives a kind of new layer.
