Grandeur

This image is from my "Beelitz Series", a comprehensive image collection of the abandoned Beelitz Heilstätten Sanatorium in Germany. This photograph has been printed 40x60" to create a sense of realism and allow for an engaging exploration. Full release is slated for Fall 2016. The name "Grandeur" came to mind immediately. The immense accomplishment of 18th century architects, the craftsmanship, attention to detail and grand sense of style left me in absolute awe of the sight. To my eyes, the care and passion that was applied when the structure was first built in 1898 still supersedes any present distress. I saw nothing but beauty.
