KI (tree in Japanese) Encounter with the trees of Griffith Park tell a unique and striking story of the time and seasons life. Elegant, heavyweight stock is treated with multiple layers of varnish and tints to match shades of the chosen photograph. Though this painting goes quickly, the drying goes slowly and eccentrically. The photo is then transferred onto this processed background, and enhanced as dictated by the artist’s eye and hand. The parchment is then ready for the finishing layers. Varied ink movements, brushing, and varnishing create the final rich effect.
