Social media has radically changed our social relations, as well as our personal exposure, often over-exposure to them. The ease with which people share their image in the mare magnum of the digital network leads to a reflection on its implications in the real life. To post a selfie and show oneself without filters to be admired; but, what happens if the barrier between us and our followers collapse, what if there will be no more social media as a fence among their eyes? Followers, the new project by Italian photographer Marco Onofri, analyzes the gray area that links social networks and reality by highlighting what happens when the fiction is abandoned and the user and the followers are placing in direct, real and concrete relation.
