Indigenous Soul

My mother has made sure we grew up knowing of our Indigenous origins. My grandmother left the tribe to marry my grandfather and that was when all the indigenous side of the family history ended. I have been a professional photographer all my life and have done a tremendous amount of different assignments all over the world, but never met Brazilian Indigenous culture before this Games, it felt like a visit to my ancestors, my origins. It was intense being so far from their world and at the same time feeling belonging. It was an amazing experience, I tried to transmit some of this magical feeling through my photos. It was an absolute honour to be there covering the 1st World Indigenous Games in Brazil.
