Guatemala has one of the world's highest numbers of chronically malnourished children and is worst in Latin America and the Caribbean. Around 50 percent of children suffer from chronic malnutrition. Among the indigenous population, the majority of Guatemala, nearly eight out of ten children are chronically malnourished. Guatemala is far worse than most sub-Saharan African countries.

Jesper Klemedsson is a Swedish documentary photographer, visual storyteller and documentarian. Working predominantly in Latin America with a special focus on the regions indigenous and social movements. He is a member of Kontinent Photojournalist Agency and one of the founders of Recapto – a documentary production company. Beside his personal projects he is frequently hired for editorial work. He has a Master in Photojournalism from the University of Westminster in London.
