Fishing for change

I met this gentleman on a recent trip to the south of France. I had seen him many times on my walks around the town and on this particular day, he was sitting with a friend on the side of the road holding a fishing rod with a cup attached to the hook, trying to collect coins. On this particular day it was about 45 degrees celsius and in winter, in the very same town, it snows. Despite living what I can only imagine would be an immensely difficult life, every time that I saw him he was in good spirits - always with a smile on his face.
