This monument is along the beaches of Normandy in France. This particular obelisk is presented in memorial of the "The officers and men of the 1st United States Infantry Division who were killed in this period while fighting for the liberty of the world". In this photo, a few tourists had stopped to inspect the obelisk and pay their respects.
