Inflated Expectations

"Inflated Expectations" examines Miami and its ongoing property bubble. Condominiums, hi-rises, and other vertical luxury properties are sprouting up as safe-haven investments from Latin America and China, appearing almost giddy in their speed and vertiginous growth. Each glassed facade stands like a blind sentinel, ignorant of the impending asset bubble and inevitable bursting. The distortion found in these multi-storied mirrors symbolizes the vast monetary distortion economic bubbles tend to form. Spatial volume swells in gleaming, empty structures as pure investment seekers chain reacts down the coast. Cranes thrust into the blue-green atmosphere as if the inflationary influx will never abate. In the distorted reflections.
