The Battle of Saint Schumann

On September 7th hundreds of tractors moved from every part of Europe to the centre of the EU neighbourhood (the Schumann Roundabout). With the tractors some 2000 - 2500 European producers of milk, pork and beef meat and fruit and vegetables. Clashes broke out between police and some protesters, driven by water cannons while tractors were trying to break the barrier of police. In a matter of hours the Schumann roundabout turned into an epic battlefield with scenes that reminded the "San Romano Battle" tryptic painted by Paolo Uccello in 1438.
