Kerala Fishermen: man's work

These images are selected from a long-terms project about the Kerala fishermen. They were taken between 2010 and 2015 along the coast from Kollam to Trivandrum and include images of work that takes place around the intensive and mechanized fishing which is based in Neendakara port and in the surrounding area. They are, in fact, the testimony that in the era of turbo capitalism and of the financial power, the profitability over human labor remains the essence on which is based the current economic system. Low wages and intensifying pace of work were the basis of the high profits made in India and China; the same kind of exploitation is now extending to the western countries.
