"miss" is a series features photographs taken during 5th and 6th editions of beauty pageant called "Miss Egzotica International" which was held in Warsaw on February 14, 2015 and February 13, 2016. All participants have foreign origin and live in Poland. Some of them were born here while the others just have immigrated and are learning the language at the moment. According to the organisers goal of the event is to fight discrimination and promote tolerance and culture variety. Among the ambassadors of the project are few Polish celebrities eg. Mariusz Pudzianowski, Omenaa Mensah, Patricia Kazadi or Robert Burneika. On 1 May 2004 Poland became a member and border state of European Union. Ever since more and more immigrants choose Poland as their place to live. Some 65% of Poles said increasing number of immigrants is good for the country (IPSOS for MOI, 2014). Currently, intense influx of refugees to Europe has become a huge challenge to the European Union. Still unresolved crisis and escalating nationalist sentiments provoke questions about the future of the European community and the possible changes that could save it from disintegration.
