SPLACE

“Physical spaces are empty and meaningless until we ascribe meaning to it. Then they become a place.” - American-Chinese Geographer, Yi-Fu Tuan Drawn to Yi-Fu Tuan’s analogy of space and place, I perceive space as movement where humans have no attachment and are more like visitors of that particular space, and place as constant where humans have some form of attachment, relationship, purpose, task or role like inhabitants of that place. SPLACE is an ongoing series of constructed images where space and place seemed to co-exist at the same time in my attempt to emulate a place.
