Familiar Yet Unknown

It is said that folktales reflect collective unconsciousness shared among people. Last century, town of Tohno was "discovered" for its rich folktales. Being unfamiliar with that region, I was curious what nurtured those stories. I visited Tohno three times in 2015. In the first morning of my first visit, a thick haze covered the town. In order to grasp what’s there, I had to gaze. By doing so, I felt like remembering some old images, like the ones I see in dreams. Not sure if they stemmed from some private image or universal archetype. I thought, anyhow, that it also reminded me of some emotions I had long forgotten.
