Ed meets Jack

‘Ed meets Jack’ is a fictional story, told through a photo novel. Two strangers happen to meet in the streets of, what looks like, an American 1950’s suburban neighborhood. Their meeting is by chance, due to accidentally colliding into each other, which causes an image to fall out of a book and onto the ground. This leads on to them having a conversation and then we see the character Jack, giving Ed his telephone number. Later on we see a phone conversation happening. We cannot see the two men’s faces, but judging from their clothing, one is a young student, while the other one is a mature adult. Projecting found footage images onto a rear projection screen that becomes the background to the staged performance, is how these photographs were created. This process emphasizes the inherent uncanniness, and secrecy of the images. Something seems wrong, but we do not know what it is. The last image offers an ambiguous reading, and it is up to the spectator to decide how the story ends.
