Jorge’s Dream As children we were sent to our grandparents’ house every summer. To me, their small town was full of cryptic places, mysterious people, strange animals, enigmatic religious rituals, and fantastic stories—all unsettling but stimulating. Years later, every visit to them was an opportunity, again, to be creative and playful and to reconnect to that magical world. I was lucky to have the complicity and imaginative collaboration of everybody in the house, including my grandparents. Jorge’s Dream is a nostalgic visit to that fantasy land, a way to experience again those feelings embedded in my childhood stories: the fear of bad guys when you know they are coming, the relief when the good ones show up, and the waking up being a bit transformed.

I studied classical languages and literature, semiotics, linguistics, anthropology and marketing research. I’ve lived in Venezuela, Canada, Germany and the US. I feel each of these places has shaped how I view the world and how I express my ideas through my images. At the moment I live between Merida, Venezuela and LA, USA. For the past 15 years I´ve been working as a qualitative marketing researcher and strategist for companies such as New American Dimensions, Wing (Grey Group), Added Value (Kantar Group). At the moment I´m a freelancer consultant.
