Carousel in Melancholy

A role of art is to help people to see the other side of the world. When thinking of carousel, we generally come up with a happy family at an amusement park. However, when the carousel is abandoned and people no longer visit the place, we can see another face of it. I could read melancholy and grotesque from the face of a wooden horse of a carousel. And I tried to capture the emotion and impression even though it's not a living thing. We cannot be always happy. Sometimes we have to confront bad situations in our lives and admit that bad things happen. Art can offer guidelines by unveiling negative things underneath.
