Tribes of Gujarat-India

    Aycin Bayraktaroglu

Poshina in Gujarat State of India consists of many small villages with a conventional life of village that is occupied by bright and colorful communities of tribal people like pastoral Rabaris, Bhils and Garasias. It is home for the original tribal culture including ancient religious rituals and ongoing daily life same as it was many thousand years ago. The small villages with characteristic mud houses, the colourful and authentic clothes and jewellery of women and handicrafts and agriculture they perform with ancient methods make these tribes very unique and worth discovering. My work is about these tribes' people and their rich culture which may be vanishing due to the modernism in near future. It may be a documentation of their ancient heritage for the next generations.
