Through Glass

To actually live in Venice is a completely different experience than seeing it as a tourist or as an occasional visitor. You slowly get to know a very complicated, unstable city, with an incredibly unique lifestyle. By becoming a Venetian I got to understand different aspects of this reality more deeply. Citizens are slightly blurred presences among the massive flows of people hitting the streets every single day of the year. My attention to this singular everyday life is what drove me to photographing piers and boats, looking inside the routine of public transport, apparently so different to how it is in all other cities but with yet the same function. Glass and windows frame different sides of this context together, perfectly representing the great complexity of a city such as Venice.
