“Harvest festival” is the most important festival celebrated by Amis (the largest aboriginal ethnic group in Taiwan). From July to August, people return to the villages and participate in this event with a series of activities, such as singing and dancing. The headdress varies from person to person as it signifies the status and rank of the wearer. What remains unchanged, however, is the pride Amis take in their identity.
