Are we ashamed for what we were born with? Ashamed enough to rather hide ourselves behind the make-believe outlook for a different identity than admitting whom we actually are? Are these pieces of evident to prove how the choices of women are still being oppressed in this “former” patriarchal society, or instead, the evident for how we look down on our own identity as the Hong Kong-Chinese? As a former British colony, besides the identity crisis about “who we are or where we from”, are Hong Kong people as well facing the challenge on embracing their true self with a healthy self-esteem? < I am not who I am > brings together a series of portraits, to question about the internal conflicts for Hong Kongers to build their own identity.
