Mythos

  • Photographer
    Katia Albini

"The project is a selection from an ongoing series that deals with Man's relationship with himself. The images are drawn from mythology – a source of wisdom, and the origin of the archetypes in which all humans see themselves reflected: my women speak to the viewer from the hidden depths of their nature. Medusa tells us of loneliness and exile; Ariadne threads her way through the labyrinth of her conscience; Arachne is ensnared by her hubris; and Selene, the full moon who draws everything back to herself, lies curled in a womb where she is guardian to herself and to the world. Through these archetypes we rediscover our fears and our hopes (so easily lost) as part of a never-ending cycle that unites the man of yesterday with the man of today because, at our core, we have never changed."
