Passage

Thousands of refugees are trying every day to cross a relatively small sea passage from the Turkish coast to the Aegean islands. When historical events like that, are still fresh, it is difficult for the images to manage to capture the actual size of the facts. The series of underwater still-life ‘’Passage’’, attempts to symbolically refer to the refugee crisis and the hundreds of dead people lost in the sea. The Aegean will no longer be the same: it has lost its innocence. From now on, its blue color will hide scattered traces, monuments of the life left behind. These photos, were made in the Aegean sea over the past three years, with crafts that were submerged in the water.
