Sandland Sharm el-Sheikh

  • Photographer
    Gianluca Micheletti

When one thinks of Sharm el-Sheikh immediately comes to mind vacation in large villages, including beautiful beaches, wonderful sea reefs and unforgettable excursions. But in Sharm el-Sheikh, outside the borders of tourism, is lived in a world that seems post-apocalyptic. From the desert land seem to flourish waste and carcasses, that as the memory, are waiting for a hopeful second life. What the tourism consumes and breaks, all seems to be on this land of sand that I wanted to call “Sandland”. The disorder here is synonymous of life, of human presence, its real / fake residents. People from other Egyptian places who reside in Sharm only for work.
